"I've been there many times and no one told me a thing," Jordan told ESPN Chicago Thursday. "Then all of a sudden they come to me on the 11th hole and say I can't wear cargo shorts. Wow! The round is almost over and you want me to buy shorts now? Yeah, right!!" The NBA Hall of Famer and Charlotte Bobcats owner finished his round of golf wearing his cargo shorts, but it may have cost him the privilege to golf there. A worker at the country club’s pro shop explained that the dress code dictates "[a] collared shirt and golf shorts or pants, no cargo or denim. If there are pockets on the outside, it's not allowed.” Jordan’s representatives reiterated that Jordan has golfed in cargo shorts at the club many times before but was never told he was violating any dress code, according to the National Post. “We were not aware that he is not allowed to return to La Gorce,” his representatives said. “I guess it’s their loss – as MJ is a great golfer, and a great guest."
